Egg Project begins Today!

This Science project is a perennial favorite among 7th graders. They love to complain about taking care of their "babies" when in truth they enjoy the experience. Students will be assigned "families," occupations, expenses and health issues which they must balance to see what it is really like to run a household with a child (or in some cases twins!) Student families are assigned a baby (hard boiled egg) which they must care for constantly over a two-week period. Students are required to take the egg home each day and return with the egg to school each day of the project period. Students are penalized for broken eggs and eggs are sent to "DFACS" if left behind in the classroom. Please be prepared to help your student with his or her family management as would any good grandparent! Good Luck to all our new "mommies" and "daddies!"
